Online Quran Classes for New Muslims — Learn From Zero, at Your Own Pace
Updated 5 November 2026
You took your Shahada — now what? Learning the Quran as a new Muslim can feel overwhelming: new letters, a new language, a whole new world of worship. It doesn't have to be. Our new-Muslim classes start exactly where you are — from zero if needed — and move at a pace that respects your life.
Every class is private, one-on-one, with a tutor who understands new Muslims: the questions you have, the pace you need, and the fact that you're building a whole new relationship with the Quran. You'll learn to read it, understand its essentials, and pray with confidence — step by step, without pressure. Try 3 free classes first.
- Free 3-day trial · no credit card
- Live 1-on-1 online classes
- Qualified male & female tutors
- 24/7 — every timezone
What new Muslims learn — in order
Most new Muslims follow the same path, at their own pace. First, the essentials of prayer: how to perform wudu, how to pray, and the short surahs you need for Salah — so you can worship confidently from the first week. Then the alphabet and Noorani Qaida, so you can read the Quran itself. Then Tajweed, and — when you're ready — the meanings of what you read, in English.
There is no fixed syllabus to rush through. Your tutor builds the plan around you: what you know, what you need next, and how much time you have each week.
- Salah essentials: wudu, prayer, and the short surahs for Salah
- Daily duas and the phrases of everyday worship
- Noorani Qaida: the alphabet, joining, and pronunciation from zero
- Nazra and Tajweed: fluent, correct reading of the Quran
- Meanings of what you read — in English, when you're ready
A teacher who understands new Muslims
A good teacher for a new Muslim is patient first and knowledgeable second. Our tutors explain simply, never assume knowledge you don't have yet, and welcome every question — about the Quran, about prayer, about daily life as a Muslim. Nothing you ask is a silly question.
Sisters can request a female teacher. Brothers can request a male teacher. You can change tutor at any time if the fit isn't right.
- Female teachers (Qariahs) available for sisters
- Explanations in plain, simple English
- Questions welcome — about the Quran, prayer, and practice
- Private 1-on-1 only — no group, no audience

Your first weeks — what to expect
Week one is about getting comfortable: your tutor learns your background, you learn the first letters and the first surahs for Salah. By the end of the first month, most new Muslims can read short surahs and are praying with more confidence. By month three, the alphabet is behind you and you're reading real Quran.
Progress is steady, not stressful. We'd rather you learn slowly and keep going than rush and stop.
- Week 1: wudu, Salah basics, and the first letters
- Month 1: short surahs for prayer, alphabet taking shape
- Month 2–3: reading short words, then short surahs from the Quran
- Ongoing: duas, meanings in English, and honest progress updates
How the free trial works
The 3-day free trial is 3 real one-to-one lessons with a qualified tutor — not a sales call. You meet your tutor, get a friendly level assessment, and experience actual classes. No credit card, no obligation.
- Day 1: meet the tutor + free level assessment
- Days 2–3: real live classes with the same tutor
- You receive honest feedback on your level and a recommended plan
- Continue only if you're happy — pause or cancel anytime
Frequently asked questions
I just took my Shahada and can't read Arabic at all. Where do I start?+
With the essentials first: wudu, Salah, and the short surahs you need to pray — then Noorani Qaida, letter by letter. Your tutor builds the plan around you, and there is no pace but yours.
How long until I can read the Quran?+
Most students complete Noorani Qaida in 2–6 months (3 classes a week typically takes 3–4 months), then read the Quran fluently within 6–9 months after that. Your tutor gives you an honest estimate after the free trial.
Can I have a female teacher as a sister?+
Yes. We have qualified female teachers (Qariahs), and sisters can request one when booking. Brothers can request a male teacher.
Will the teacher explain the meaning in English?+
Yes. Reading comes first, but your tutor can explain the meanings of what you read in plain English whenever you're ready for it.
What do I need for the class?+
Just a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and internet connection, plus a quiet corner. Classes run on common video-call apps — we'll walk you through setup on WhatsApp before the first class.
What is the difference between the free 3-day trial and the free one-month Qaida course?+
The free 3-day trial is 3 real one-to-one lessons in any course — Qaida, Tajweed, Hifz, Tafseer or Arabic — so you can meet your tutor and try real lessons. The free one-month Qaida course is a full month of live one-to-one Qaida lessons for beginners, for the first 50 students only. They are two different offers: try 3 lessons, or take a whole free month of Qaida.
When does the free Qaida course start?+
There is no fixed start date. The course begins once enrolment is complete. Class time is whatever you choose, in your own time zone.
What are the fees?+
Plans are based on classes per week: 2 classes/week is $25/month, 3 classes/week is $35/month, 5 classes/week is $55/month. The 3-day trial is completely free. See our fees page for full details.
