Online Qaida Classes for Adults: Start from Any Level, with Dignity
By Nazeer AhmadFounder, QuranHub Online Quran AcademyM.A. Arabic & IslamiyatDars-e-Nizami (Tanzeem-ul-Madaris)10+ years teaching Quran and Islamic studies
Online Qaida classes for adults are built for a simple truth: it is never too late to learn to read the Quran. Whether you never had the chance as a child, can read a little but were never taught properly, or embraced Islam and are starting fresh, Qaida is the same first step — and it is taught privately, patiently, and entirely around your life.
Adult classes are one-on-one, so there is no classroom of children to feel out of place in and no group pace to keep up with. Your tutor meets you exactly where you are, sets your pace after a friendly level assessment, and corrects you gently in every class. This guide explains the adult path, how classes fit around work and family, and how to begin with 3 free trial classes.
- Free 3-day trial · no credit card
- Live 1-on-1 online classes
- Qualified male & female tutors
- 24/7 — every timezone
Why adults start with Qaida — even if they can already read a little
Many adults can recognise Arabic letters or read slowly, but were never taught the joining rules, the vowels, or correct pronunciation points. That partial foundation is exactly what Qaida fixes. Starting at the alphabet is not going backwards: it is filling the gaps that make later reading shaky, so that Nazra and Tajweed afterwards rest on something solid.
Your tutor's level assessment in the trial classes finds those gaps honestly. Some adults move through the early lessons quickly; others need more time on pronunciation. Either way, the plan is yours — there is no fixed syllabus timetable you must keep up with, and no judgement about where you are starting from.
- Qaida fills the gaps behind shaky reading: joining, vowels, pronunciation
- A level assessment in the trial sets your personal starting point
- Your pace is set by your progress, not by a fixed timetable
- Private classes: no group, no embarrassment, no keeping up with others
The adult Qaida path
The path follows the same proven order as the children's course: the alphabet first, then letters that join, then the short vowels and long vowels, then Sukoon and Shaddah, then Tanween. From there you read joined words, then longer words and short lines, then first lines from the Quran, and finally whole surahs with steadier, fuller passages.
QuranHub's Qaida course usually takes 3 to 4 months from zero to fluent Arabic reading. Adults should treat that as a realistic range, not a promise: work, family, and practice time all affect it, and your tutor will give you an honest personal assessment after the trial. What matters most is steady attendance plus a little reading aloud between classes.
- Alphabet, joining, short vowels, long vowels — in that order
- Sukoon, Shaddah, and Tanween before joined words
- Joined words, lines, Quran lines, then whole surahs
- Usual range 3 to 4 months, varying with attendance and practice
Classes built around an adult life
Adult students choose their own class days and times — early mornings before work, late evenings after the children sleep, weekends, or whatever pattern their week allows. Because tutors are arranged around the student's own timezone, you are not asked to take classes at awkward hours to suit someone else's schedule.
Classes are live video calls with one tutor. You read aloud, the tutor listens, and corrections happen in the moment. You need only a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and an internet connection. If a week gets busy, you can reschedule by messaging on WhatsApp — there is no penalty for life getting in the way.
- Class times you choose, in your own timezone
- Early mornings, late evenings, or weekends — your pattern
- Reschedule by WhatsApp whenever life gets busy
- Live 1-on-1: every mistake corrected gently and immediately
Sisters learning Qaida as adults
Many adult sisters prefer learning with a female teacher, for comfort and for modesty, and that is easy to arrange. QuranHub has qualified female Qariahs, and you can request one when you book. Classes are private either way: one student, one tutor, no mixed group.
The same applies to any adult who prefers a male teacher. Mention your preference on WhatsApp when you book, and if the fit does not feel right after a few classes, you can request a different tutor at any time.
- Qualified female Qariahs available on request for sisters
- Private classes only — never a mixed group
- Teacher preference set at booking, changeable at any time
What to practise between classes
Short, regular practice matters more than long, rare sessions. Reading aloud for a few focused minutes most days keeps the letters fresh and makes each new lesson feel like revision rather than re-learning. Your tutor will tell you exactly what to practise after each class, so you never have to guess what to do.
If you miss practice for a week, say so. Tutors would far rather know than watch you struggle silently, and the next lesson can simply revisit the step that slipped. Progress in Qaida is rarely a straight line for busy adults, and a good tutor plans for that.
- A few focused minutes of reading aloud most days beats rare long sessions
- Your tutor sets the practice after each class
- Missed a week? Tell your tutor — the lesson adjusts
- Reading aloud matters: Qaida is learned with the mouth, not just the eyes

Frequently asked questions
I am an adult who never learned to read Arabic. Is Qaida right for me?+
Yes — Qaida is designed for complete beginners of any age. Lesson 1 starts with the alphabet itself, and your tutor sets the pace after a level assessment in the trial.
I can read a little already. Do I still need Qaida?+
Usually yes, briefly. Many adults who read slowly have gaps in joining, vowels, or pronunciation that Qaida fills. The trial assessment will show exactly which steps you can move through quickly.
When are adult Qaida classes held?+
Whenever you choose — early mornings, late evenings, or weekends, in your own timezone. Tell us your preferred days and times on WhatsApp and we will match a tutor to them.
Can I learn with a female teacher?+
Yes. Qualified female Qariahs are available on request, and many sisters choose them. Mention your preference when you book.
How long does Qaida take for an adult?+
QuranHub's Qaida course usually takes 3 to 4 months from zero to fluent Arabic reading, varying with classes per week and practice. Your tutor will give you an honest personal assessment after the trial.
What do adult Qaida classes cost?+

What comes after Qaida for an adult learner?+
You move into Nazra — fluent reading of the Quran — and then Tajweed. Adults who wish can later study Hifz or continue with recitation improvement.
